Liposuction In Thailand
Liposuction is a type of plastic surgery used to remove unwanted subcutaneous fat in specific locations that do not respond to diet or exercise. These areas are the hips, waist, abdomen, thighs, knees, legs, ankles, face, neck, and arms. Liposuction is most effective in patients with good skin tone who are close to normal weight but have localized fatty deposits. Patients with loose skin tone should have liposuction performed conservatively; otherwise, a skin resection is required. It does not treat obesity. Its purpose is to create a more attractive physique by improving curves and proportions.
The treatment is done as an outpatient and requires many small stab incisions through which a cannula or hollow tube is placed. This tube is aided by a vibrator in gliding and breaking up the fat beneath the skin while protecting nerves and blood arteries. Suctioning is soft and comforting, as patients perceive the vibration of the power cannula as massage. Several locations can be suctioned in a single operational setting, although your surgeon may limit the amount that can be safely removed at once.
Operation Time: 2 hours or longer.
Anesthesia might be local or general. Hospital/clinic stays typically last 1-2 nights.
Duration of stay in Thailand: 1-2 weeks
Risks and complications:
Asymmetry of body shapes, skin irregularities (rippling or bagginess), and changes in skin pigment, fluid retention, or infection are all potential risks and repercussions of the UA technique. Skin burns are also possible.
Recovery Period:
You will be puffy for 24 hours after surgery, but bruised to a minimum. A compression garment is worn for four weeks to reduce fluid collection and help the skin settle, and a massage is recommended to speed up the process. Daily activities can resume after 24 hours, however aerobic or vigorous exercise is restricted to 4 weeks.
Preparation Before Surgery:
- During consultation, a medical history evaluation (including allergies, major medical conditions, and prescriptions) will be conducted, along with a physical examination and laboratory tests.
- Avoid smoking for 3-4 weeks before surgery to improve circulation and recovery.
- Stop drinking alcohol a week before surgery and during recovery.
To avoid complications before surgery, avoid using medications such as hormones, anticoagulants, anabolic steroids, and supplements for at least 4-6 weeks. Additionally, avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements, which might cause bleeding.
