Mid-Facelift Thailand
A mid-facelift is a plastic surgery technique that is used to repair hollowing beneath the lower eyelids and deep nasolabial folds that run from the base of the nose to the outer corners of the mouth. It gives the appearance of being younger by smoothing the transition between the lower eyelids and the upper cheek region. A Midface lift can be paired with a more traditional facelift to address the neck or jowl region.
The incision is usually made behind the lower lid lash edge and extends to the lateral eye area.
Operation Time: Typically, the operation takes 3-4 hours.
The treatment is performed under either sedation or general anesthesia.
2 nights in a hospital or clinic
Stay in Thailand for 12-14 days.
Complications and risks:
Aside from the risks associated with any surgical operation, concerns related to face lift surgery include: Injury to the nerves that govern facial muscles (usually transient).
Problems with skin healing – this is prevalent in patients who smoke.
Scarring – There will be some scarring, but the surgeon will always strive to conceal the scars.
The crust on the incisions is very transitory.
Numbness or tingling around the incision sites is expected to be transitory.
Skin or hair loss is uncommon.
Skin discolouration is an uncommon disorder that can last for several months.
The following are some of the most prevalent postoperative face lift complications:
Reaction to anesthesia – Some face lift patients feel nausea and general sickness after undergoing anesthesia; this is a temporary side effect that normally subsides within a few hours.
Hematoma – a hematoma can form if bleeding occurs beneath the skin, leaving the area severely enlarged; an operation is required to control the flow and remove the blood.
Although some light postoperative bleeding is common, uncontrolled bleeding is harmful and can result in painful hematomas.
Swelling, sensitivity, redness, and localized heat are indications of infection, which often occurs in a specific location. Antibiotics can treat an infection, unless it is severe.
Recovery Time:
Bruising and swelling are to be expected for 1-2 weeks following surgery. Early on, ice and eye lubricants can be beneficial. Typically, stitches are removed 7-10 days following surgery. There may be a period of several weeks of an overcorrected or “Asian” aspect to the eyes, which will relax after 4-6 weeks.
- Medical history evaluation (any allergies, major medical conditions, and all medications taken, both prescribed and non-prescribed), physical examination, and laboratory testing will be done during consultation.
- Avoid smoking for around 3-4 weeks before surgery, since nicotine interferes with circulation and has a negative impact on the healing process.
- Stop consuming alcohol a week before surgery and for the duration of your recuperation.
- Hormones, anticoagulants, anabolic steroids, and supplements should be avoided for at least 4-6 weeks before to surgery to avoid complicating medical concerns, and aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements should also be avoided since they can increase bleeding.
